There will be 9 prizes awarded at ACIS in 2007:

ACS best paper prizes - ACS has provided Best Paper awards for ACIS each year since its inception : $500 1st, $300 2nd and $200 3rd place.

1st Prize : Aditya Agrawal, Gavin Finnie and Padmanabhan Krishnan

ACS Environmental Sustainability in ICT - $250 1st, $150 2nd and $100 3rd place
The ACS is increasingly concerned about promoting community awareness and action on environmental sustainability in ICT. This issue is a current social responsibility strategy for the ACS. To support this strategy, the IS Board of the ACS proposes sponsorship of three awards for the best three papers on the topic of Environmental Sustainability in ICT at ACIS 2007.

Selection of the papers is to be by the ACIS 2007 Program Chair(s). Suitable certificates associated with each award will be prepared for presentation at ACIS 2007.

1st Prize : Bill Smart, Bruce Armstrong and Jerry Vanclay
Paper: User Satisfaction: An Evaluation of a Carbon Credit Information System

2nd Prize : Chris Manning
Paper: Facilitating and Enabling Global Change: Towards a model of Knowledge Based Paradigm Shift

 

Queensland Department of Tourism, Regional Development & Industry - Industry Relevance Paper- $250
The Queensland Government Department of State Development has sponsored a prize for the best paper with strong industry relevance.

Paper: Positive and Negative Findings of the ISO/IEC 17799 Framework
